Quickly capitalizing on the Intel/Centrino Sonoma update, Dell and IBM have released notebooks that feature the new chipset.

Dell, with its Inspiron 6000, and IBM, with their T43ThinkPad, were both quick to embrace Intel's new processor line, which was announced earlier this week. According to TechWeb.com,

"The Inspiron 6000 weighs in at 6.65 pounds, putting it in the so-called "desktop replacement" category. With prices starting at $849, the 6000 can be assembled with a variety of processors -- from the 1.30GHz Celeron M 350 to the 1.6GHz Pentium M 730 -- up to 2GB of memory, hard drives in the 30- to 80GB capacity range, and optional 802.11 b/g wireless capabilities. The Inspiron comes with a 15.4-inch display.

A 6000 equipped with a Pentium M 730, 512MB of memory, a 40GB hard drive, and wireless prices out at $1,655 on Dell's small business Web site…

The ThinkPad T43 will feature the new Pentium M processors using the 533MHz front-side bus when they actually ship in late February, said Bill Iori, the product manager for the ThinkPad T-series line. Additionally, the T43 will support up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, PCI Express, and advanced graphics cards such as the ATI Radeon X300."

Expect other notebooks featuring Intel's updated chipset to be available soon.
